Polaris Administration Leap Settings
Polaris Administration permissions control access to the Leap application and the actions staff members can perform in Leap. Settings in the Workstation record in Polaris Administration enable Leap for a workstation. If Leap is enabled for a workstation, you can also enable integrated RFID or identify a Leap-enabled workstation as the terminal server. You can also set Polaris Administration parameters and profiles to:
- Prompt for eReceipts when checking out items to patrons who have not yet opted to receive eReceipts
- Suppress specific views and fields from display in the Patron Registration workform
- Specify the opening view for the Item Record workform
Important:
Workstations on which Leap is running should be registered with a Workstation record in Polaris Administration, even if Leap is running on a workstation that does not have the Polaris staff client installed.
In addition to the Polaris Administration options, you can use the Polaris Web Admin language editor tool to customize language strings in the application at the System, Library, or Branch level, including: the quote that appears on the opening page; button and field labels; and messages. When the strings are edited, the new labels and messages appear after the user logs out and then back in to Leap. For more information, see the Polaris Web Admin Tool Guide.
